Art & Misc. (Kevin)

Kevin - this is the piece I was talking about! I did this in one of Tom Askman's ( Drawing 400) classes- he hates "drip" paintings traditionally but this went beyond that. It's very layered and the use of color is very similar to what your doing. :.)
The colors are piled onto each other. Where I placed a cool color on a hot color- it forces the space forward. Where I put a hot color onto a cool color, the space recedes. The opacity and transparency (which you also used) are alternated in such a way the painting "ripples".
To get that transparent look with coffee filters, put them in oil, then let them dry before using. ;.)
